Winter trees

Winter treesWinter in the Pohangina valley. But the first lamb appeared earlier this week, and the first flowers have opened on the fruit tree near the gate.

But didn't you just love the way they spoke??? Just got back from a weekend on an island - island-time - so I sorta feel like an ent ... This is a.w.e.s.o.m.e. My father-in-law raised sheep for a while near the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia ... the little lambs were, of course, adorable ... the adults were ... sheep:)

Barbara, there was a lot of whispering going on, and most of it was over my head.
Actually, I was away for the weekend too, and even in those couple of days, new lambs appeared and the fruit tree's flowering vigorously. Things are starting to move fast now.

I was up on No. 4 line in the valley yesterday afternoon and there certainly were plenty of lambs to be seen. Still time for a cold snap though...

Spring comes in the blue of the sky.

Andrew, I'm trying to ignore the possibility of a cold snap. Denial seems to be working well so far. ;^)

Michael, there's definitely a change in the quality of light.
