Hot pool, Wairakei

Had a brilliant time this weekend at Wairakei, just north of Taupo in the Central North Island. Cold water and I don't mix; however, this met my minimum standard of non wet-suited swimming (i.e. almost blood temperature).

Getting out is the most fun part, isn't it? ... especially in near-zero temperatures :-) Character building, is what it is.

Well, Anne-Marie, my character must be well and truly built after that...

..ahhhh.. I haven't been swimming for years!... the summer failed to show up AGAIN this year here, so the usual river haunt has been left idle.. I refuse to swim in the stifleing, packed out conditions of the nearest indoor pool (mainly because they rob you blind for it)... This pool looks beautiful though... plus I love that lighthouse tattoo! :-D

I love hot water outside. Agreed about the temp. necessary.

Watercats, it's a great tat, isn't it? Simple and striking.

Zhoen, as Anne-Marie indicated, it's the getting out that's the crunch.
