Cascada Río Pipo, Tierra del Fuego NP

The first place we visited in Tierra del Fuego National Park was the small waterfall and rapids on the Río Pipo, about ten minutes' stroll from the car park. As usual, I could have stayed there indefinitely photographing the flow of water.

Oooo... I wonder if there are Galaxias maculatus (the common NZ whitebait species) in there. The certainly occur in the vicinity.

Andrew, the similarities to New Zealand were so striking I had to keep reminding myself I was in southern Patagonia and to stop comparing. I certainly felt relaxed and comfortable there — probably more so than any other place on the journey. The birds were different, though (except the kelp gulls and house sparrows).
