This was back in January 2005, when Terry, Lance and I climbed Mts Wakeman and Murchison at the head of the White River, Arthur's Pass National Park (in the South Island), then came out via the Greenlaw basins and Greenlaw creek. I have just stumbled upon both your blogs. Your writing is wonderful and sensuous, and your photos are dramatic. Terribly excited to have found you and I am following along now.
But for the distant snow this could be Lawrence of Arabia - so much an extension of his habitat.

RR, yes, now you point it out, it does have that look about it. The "aged photo" look seemed to suit it well.

Ha! It's all intuition, Tom. Interesting thought, though. I guess empty space focuses attention on the other aspects of the photo.
