At the Karni Mata Mandir (the rat temple) in Deshnoke, Rajasthan. I loved this place.

Fantastic picture!.. as a lover of rats I'm probably biased, but I love it! I would love to visit the rat temple, have seen it a few times on documentaries etc.. looks amazing, you're so lucky to have been..
Hope your christmas and new year went stunningly, wishing you all the best things :-) cheers!

This is a thought-provoking photo and post, links and all. It is, simply, honest.

Thanks watercats — good to know some people share my appreciation. You'd be entranced at the Karni Mata mandir. It's much better than most of the documentaries suggest — unfortunately, those I've seen treat it as something bizarre rather than according it appropriate respect.
Thanks for the good wishes, too. I had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, sharing it with some great people :^)

Barbara, I'm really pleased it got you thinking — always good to get that response. :^)
