Pheasant poult, No. 1 Line, Pohangina Valley

The second of the two pheasant poults at the top of the No. 1 Line road got left behind when its mother and sibling flew across the road into the long grass. It didn't take long for this one to follow, though.

We have a family of pheasants that live somewhere near our place on waiheke. Every now and again they come to visit... I'll be sitting outside and be surprised by them wandering around in our backyard. I've never been quick enough to photograph them though! :)

That must be quite a treat, Leonie, and if you can't photograph them, at least you can sit back and enjoy them. It sounds wonderful.

Zhoen, this is very much how I imagine pheasants at home. Rough, interesting country.
