I like the interplay of simplicity and vibrancy in the color. These colors appeal to me - swaths of sunset brought indoors. Ditto Anne-Marie's comment about the chair after a bus ride!
Anne-Marie and Barbara, thank you. You're right about the chair, too. The bed was hardly softer, but much more appealing (especially as I arrived in the middle of the night).

Such an ordinary, familiar sight in so remote and exotic a place.
Zhoen, I'm pretty sure I've seen these same chairs here in Aotearoa. Generally in some shade of khaki or grey, though :^(
