Cabin curtain

Early morning and the sun rises over the ocean, lighting up the curtain in the little one-room cabin at Flounder Bay.

Amazing how some thing so ordinary can look so striking.

[And you have to stop posting pics of Flounder Bay. I miss it!]

Kia ora Pete,
I keep wanting to pull open that curtain and look outside!

I saw Anne Marie's comment and wonder,
what is it that she found striking in this photo ?

Boy, your standards are slipping pretty fast!

Anne-Marie, sorry — I'm pretty sure there will be more photos from there.

Robb, with sun like that coming through, it didn't stay closed for long :^)

Greg — just guessing, but it was probably what I also saw as striking. A famous quotation (attributed variously to Coltrane, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, and probably many others) says, "If you have to ask, you'll never know". It's a bit of a cop-out, but still contains a lot of truth. I guess, given my reluctance to explain what I probably can't, I have to resort to pointing out that taste is personal and it'd be a sad day when we all saw things identically.

Anonymous, that's not particularly helpful, but I guess you prefer different styles of photography? I'm a bit confused, too, as I'd have thought the photos over the last month have been reasonably diverse. Anyway, nice to know you've been keeping an eye on them. Cheers!

Wow! This photo held me captured for quite some time... can't really put my finger on it. It reminded me of just how much every single thing in the world will reveal its elegance and significance if you are willing to really look and see.

That's it in a nutshell, Miguel.
