A bit over a week ago I attended the launch of Home: New Writing, a collection of essays by New Zealand writers and edited by Thom Conroy. As usual at the City Library, where the launch took place in the evening, the lighting was difficult, but I managed a handful of acceptable photographs.

Beautiful photograph, but when is your contribution published?
Thank you RR. I guess I deserved that ;-)
We all deserve it. There have been quite a few people waiting quite a long time for you!
Literature and Light and the voice ... The chiaroscuro effect, I think, connects to the timelessness of story. And, yes, I'm with RR - it would be great to see you published, if that is your wish.
Thank you, Barbara. I have no excuses.
I think this is more than "acceptable", Pete. Fantastic lighting! The way it falls on just the hand and the book is so expressive.
I don't know if you remember but, years ago when I was visiting family, I was taken to a City Library book evening and that's where I first met you. You're so lucky to have a library that organises those regular events.
I back RR. I'm one of the people waiting.
Thank you, Lesley. You're right — we're lucky to have such an excellent library here. It's a constant stream of excellent events. (And maybe I'll have one of my own one day.)
Don't leave it too long - and make sure you give me a bit of notice so I can fly up for it. :)
Lesley, I'll make sure you know. :-)
