Fantail/piwakawaka

On the Massey University campus this morning a little piwakawaka obligingly posed for me, holding still just long enough for a photograph.

Very different view of these fellas. (I have one of yours as a desktop image that I treasure.)

Zhoen, when photographing these, you never know what you'll get. You just have to keep trying, and the uncertainty of the outcome is one of the reasons I keep photographing. I'm delighted you're getting so much enjoyment out of that photo, too. :-)

Zhoen: I know just the image you're referring to (I have it up on my wall!). When I saw this new image, I thought "oh, that baby has grown its tail!"

Ha! That one certainly does look very different, Lisa, but I can assure you it had a tail (and no doubt has been telling one to its mates ever since it became famous).
