Evening, Wellington harbour

This afternoon I returned from a few days near Wellington. Yesterday evening I'd taken a short, brisk walk up one of the bush tracks near Point Howard, and had stopped to photograph the last of the sun above the harbour. I could almost believe the worst of the winter had passed, but that would have been wrong. Even now, another icy front makes its way up from the south, and the forecast for this week looks grim.

I thought the same this weekend, Pete, "it feels like spring!" (helped along by the fact I drove past a field of daffodils in full bloom!). you've captured lovely light here - an image full of brightness and hope!

Lisa, I'm expecting the first lambs any time now!

Golden tree in a mysterious atmosphere.

Does this mean my summer is getting to it's tail end?

Kia ora Pete...
Such a lovely time of day in winter, the light lingering for those brief moments. The hopeful musing on the passing of winter reminds me a bit of Ground Hog day in the states. Be it the little bugger sees his shadow or not there are still cold days ahead.

Zhoen, I suppose that depends which end of the tail you mean (and thereby hangs a tale) ;-)

Kia ora Robb. I doubt anything will see its shadow given the weather we're having right now.
