Zhoen, I have some other photographs where it seems to be resting on the tips of its claws. I imagine if one ever landed on my hand I'd feel only the lightest of touches of little scratchy claws and no weight at all.

Maureen, I know what you mean! But no, this happened to be one of the warmer (relatively speaking) afternoons of the winter so far.
