I never tired of seeing hoatzins during the four days of our stay in Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve.
[31 August 2011 (Ecuador), Panasonic Lumix GH1, 100–300 mm at 300 mm, ISO 400, 1/100 at f5.6. Not as sharp as I'd have liked, but it shows the bird well.]

Understandable. They are mesmerizing.
This one looks quite poised and elegant, showing the plumage beautifully. But perhaps elegant is the wrong word when you describe the noises these birds produce?
I'm convinced that this bird is the inspiration for "Kevin" in the movie UP! - and just beautiful.
I've only just discovered your blog and photoblog, and am enjoying both immensely. Thank you.

Zhoen, they look so prehistoric I sometimes wondered what might suddenly appear in the background.
RR, I still can't do better than your description of them looking as if they'd just tumbled out of bed after a rough night ;^)
Christina, thanks! I haven't seen "Up", but have heard great reports. I'll keep an eye out for Kevin when I get back to New Zealand and arrange a viewing :^)
What an astonishing bird. What an astonishing capture with your camera.
Lydia, I never tired of seeing them; they're wonderful.
