In the previous post I mentioned how the tree lucerne had begun to attract birds like the korimako. This evening I finally managed to photograph one of these beautiful birds. This is a female, easily identifiable by the white stripe at the corner of her mouth.

What a subtle beauty.
Zhoen, the males are a little more colourful, but still subtle. No one could accuse them of being gaudy.
the song makes up for the subtle colouring
gz, right now I can hear one calling close by. It's one of the less melodious calls, but still a joy to listen to.
