Weather on the way, Indian Himalaya

The view from near my room
Near Joshimath in the Indian Himalaya. Tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus) lived on these mountainsides — from my balcony most evenings I could see small groups feeding on the steep slopes on the far side of the valley.

    That's quite some weather, isn't it? I thought the last photo was lovely - but that particular scene looks insignificant compared to this one.

    Anne-Marie, it was certainly cold, but I was able to stay warm enough and the view was worth the minor discomfort.

    i was caught by the peak lured into the foreground and then in awe at the sharp ridges in the top left...makes me feel adventurous

    Hey Tom, you'd have to be adventurous (and well equipped) to head up there in that weather. When it's fine it's a different matter, though — I did a day walk further up the valley and got to a fair height among mixed conifer and rhododendron forest. Loved it.
