Autumn grasses

The cold of autumn has just started to become noticeable. But autumn has consolations, too, and the greatest of those is the light in the evenings.

[The poll about the blog format has closed. Opinions were divided exactly down the middle, and I've had thoughtful feedback supporting both formats. In the meantime, I'll leave the blog with the old, dark background. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback or voted.]

  1. Autumn light on drying seeds is special. Not the same as early spring on winter rotted stuff. Everything feels so dusty and muddy here, even as the green peeks through. In another month, I'll be basking in fresh sprouting things, but not now, not yet.

  2. Zhoen, that's so true. I hadn't thought of that, but now you point it out, it seems obvious. Maybe, too, in spring I'm distracted by all that optimism, all that promise, all that new growth, and I don't pay as much attention to the light.

  4. Avus, I agree — those colours can look spectacular together.

Constructive criticism is welcomed (I particularly appreciate thoughts on what you like and don't like), but please keep it courteous.
