The Pourangaki catchment from Wooden Peg

By the time we'd left the main Hikurangi Range and made our way to Wooden Peg — a bump on the ridge — we'd left the misty cloud well behind. Clear blue skies make for dull photographs, so this was one of the last before I packed the camera away for good.

  2. Kia ora Pete...a stirring image. I am reminded of John Muir...

“We are now in the mountains and they are in us, kindling enthusiasm, making every nerve quiver, filling every pore and cell of us.”

  3. Zhoen — and it's still being rumpled. We had a 4.9 magnitude earthquake a couple of days ago, and that isn't unusual.

Kia ora Robb. I like that idea of us being in the mountains and them being in us. The less the distinction between us and them, the better.

Constructive criticism is welcomed (I particularly appreciate thoughts on what you like and don't like), but please keep it courteous.
