Harvestman among the lichen

Look hard at the small things and you'll find another world. This harvestman was resting in the miniature jungle of lichens encrusting an old fence batten. I'm glad these arachnids aren't the size of rottweilers.

  1. At first I saw this as being underwater. Perhaps the body of the Harvestman is rather squid-like, and those 'tentacles' terrifyingly large.
What a wonderful time you're having amid the old timbers.

  2. RR, yes, it does have that look, doesn't it? The eyes, set on those slightly raised mounds, give it something of the look of an octopus.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of looking closely at tiny, wild things.
