Zhoen, the light was tricky — very contrasty. If the subject was completely in the shade it was a nice, soft light, but so often something would be in direct sunlight and the exposure would just blow out. I could have used fill flash, I suppose, but that would have been distracting for the pipers.
The band was playing in the narrow alley outside the Celtic. Loud, but stirring stuff. I love the sound of pipes played well (and here that's the only way they're played. We have brilliant pipers).
