Voting in the local government elections finished at midday on Saturday, and I can't say I'm unhappy it's over. If this guy had been standing in my electorate instead of in Paekakariki, I'd have been tempted to vote for him.

i imagine he might be very far indeed to the right of Genghis Khan!
ReplyDeleteIn that case he'd enjoy the company of some of our candidates, Avus ;-)
ReplyDeleteAh. I finally figured out what to say regarding all this electoral INSANITY: We're all strapped in the Millenium Falcon dodging danger in that asteroid field. (I raised two sons so that's the analogy that springs to mind.)
ReplyDeleteBarbara — haha! Good luck with dodging those asteroids. At least we're out of it for the time being (although we have Parliamentary elections next year).
ReplyDeleteI used to favour the Monster Raving Loony Party for its manifesto in British politics. Then there was my own Gingham Party(Keep Britain Dainty).but neither really got off the ground. So it's good that UKIP (Let's Just Fight)is keeping up the tradition for real.
ReplyDeleteMy local conservative (see:regressive) newspaper just came out for the least objectionable candidate, not the Orangeturd. I'm a bit aghast. Will be getting our voting material in the mail shortly, then it's over for us.
ReplyDeleteI would consider Vader over Orangeturd, though. He's evil, but not disgusting as well.
RR, in the same vein, we used to have the McGillicuddy Serious Party to vote for here, but, sadly, that disappeared a few electoral cycles ago. Your GP(KBD) party sounds delightful, and I'd find it hard to choose between that and Vader.
ReplyDeleteZhoen, I totally agree: Vader over the other one. Vader's probably less dangerous, too.
