Hard to resist

In this day and age when everyone seems to have some kind of camera, even if it's just built into a mobile phone, who can resist the urge to photograph a good rainbow?

Tuesday began with a spectacular double rainbow in the west and ended with this one in the east. I couldn't resist.

  1. Too many rainbows are barely enough.
Thank you for the magic of that one.

  3. Nevertheless, it is spectacular, Pete. A good shot (or maybe coincidental?)since it seems to be setting fire to the hillside.

  4. You can see why, in Biblical writing, a rainbow was always a promise or a blessing falling onto the land. You're right, Elephant's Child, we can never have too many rainbows.

  5. And why not? This is luminous and wonderful.

  6. Lisa, your comment got me wondering whether any cultures view rainbows from a less positive perspective. Apparently, the answer is yes, at least among some Amazonian cultures, but it's striking how this seems to be so much the exception.

Zhoen, luminous is such an appropriate word.

Constructive criticism is welcomed (I particularly appreciate thoughts on what you like and don't like), but please keep it courteous.
