Still hanging around — Piwakawaka

The piwakawaka are still making good use of the verandah. Sometimes I find it difficult to believe they're not more interested in the camera than in using the railing as a staging post for insect-snatching forays, but I don't mind. If they're happy to pose, I'm happy to photograph.

  3. Maybe they instinctively know they have an adoring fan base! Love these sweeties and I love saying their name;)

  4. Zhoen, I like it!

Barbara, they certainly have a fan here, and it's hard to imagine anyone not being entranced by them.

  5. You're so right, Zhoen - chin to the side and front foot forward. I'm naming this bird Angelina.

  6. Lisa — Ha! But what if it's a male? Actually, I guess it doesn't matter — as far as I know, the sexes are indistinguishable. They can tell the difference, of course, and that's what's important ;-)

Constructive criticism is welcomed (I particularly appreciate thoughts on what you like and don't like), but please keep it courteous.
