Kennels, plum, sky

Back in May this year, autumn had begun to grip the land. Low sun, the leaves shrivelling, a nip in the morning air. Now, at the other end of winter, this kind of scene can be seen again, but I much prefer the promise of lengthening days, warming weather, and lower river levels that allow safer access to the Ruahine.

  1. ....and here I am in Middle England, early morning mist, nip in the air, leaves falling and shrivelling, low sun, shortening days and the risk of the River Severn flooding before too long. Enjoy your spring!

  2. Thank you, RR. I'm glad you have that big stove to keep you warm. I'm enjoying the spring here, although the weather this weekend has been appalling (not that it mattered, because I was indoors, helping teach a course, both days).

  3. Getting through the hottest August on record, a very smoky summer, and all very dry, was quite enough for me. Ready for autumn, longing for winter.

  4. Zhoen, winter does have plenty of appealing features, and I do enjoy many aspects. I'm not built well for it, though.

  5. I like the light of spring and autumn, the way it bends toward the equinox.

  6. I agree, Robin. Yesterday evening the light here was spectacular.
