At Mt Abu in Rajasthan, near the border with Gujarat, the Independence Day celebrations were exuberant and colourful. Typical India. I can't imagine anything quite as colourful as this here in Aotearoa... although perhaps if the Indian community were doing the celebrating...
The powder was part of a performance. One of the dancers sprang through the ranks, tossing fingerfuls of powder into the air.
Something of a contrast to the previous photo?

So vibrant, so much energy with no movement.
ReplyDeleteZhoen, plenty of energy when they were dancing, though.
ReplyDeleteI like the title you used and, despite the fact that the yellow powder looks an awful lot like the pollen causing me inordinate misery these days ;0, the color is amazing. I feel my mood lightening from the first glance. I think my favorite part is the bangle balanced on the delicate wrist.
ReplyDeleteBarbara, I'm sorry to hear the pollen's getting to you. I'm lucky in that I seem to be largely unaffected by most potential allergens, but I have plenty of friends who suffer badly. I guess a photo can't do much to alleviate the symptoms, but I'm very pleased to know this one's lifted your spirits.
ReplyDeleteI like the poise of that bangle, too :^)
