At the Himalaya hotel a snowstorm hit the night before we were to enter the Annapurna Sanctuary; travel onwards would have been suicidal. We waited until all the other guests had left, then followed them back down the valley. The crows just sat it out.

What else can a sensible crow do? A beautiful study of coldness, and refreshing to see in the midsummer heat (it will be heading your way in a half-year or so!).
ReplyDeleteDitto! The photo is lovely. How wonderful it would feel in these sweltering days (a road in a neighboring county buckled in the heat) to find shelter in those lacy boughs dusted with snow. Smart crow.
ReplyDeleteRR and Barbara, thanks for reminding me that hot weather exists. The thought just might get me through the rest of winter ;^)
