Blue chair; Bhuj

Furniture for warm climates

One of my rooms in Bhuj, Gujarat. This was the first place I stayed after a 17-hour bus journey.

  1. I like this; I like its simplicity. Often it's the small details that are the most interesting.

PS. I bet you didn't want to sit in that chair after a 17-hour bus journey!

  2. I like the interplay of simplicity and vibrancy in the color. These colors appeal to me - swaths of sunset brought indoors. Ditto Anne-Marie's comment about the chair after a bus ride!

  3. Anne-Marie and Barbara, thank you. You're right about the chair, too. The bed was hardly softer, but much more appealing (especially as I arrived in the middle of the night).

  4. Such an ordinary, familiar sight in so remote and exotic a place.

  5. Zhoen, I'm pretty sure I've seen these same chairs here in Aotearoa. Generally in some shade of khaki or grey, though :^(

  6. love the simplicity of this and the colour - wow!

after sitting that long on a bus though, i suspect the hard chair wasn't going to be any comfort! ;)
