Rishikesh local

On a bank of the Ganges

He showed me a grimy letter, apparently from a doctor. The letter pointed out he needed 50,000 rupees immediately for a life-saving operation. He held up an arm, bandaged to look like a stump. "Gangrene," he said. He'd been suffering from it for the last ten years.

  1. Oh dear - chronic gangene and such an eloquent face.
I assume you handed over 50,000 rupees, as requested?

  2. RR, unfortunately I didn't happen to have 50,000 rupees on my person right then. Fortunately, he didn't seem to be in any discomfort despite his "gangrene". Perhaps he'd confused "gangrene" with some other word (I'll leave you to guess)?

Chapa, yes, but in this case I doubt the tragedy had anything to do with gangrene.

Constructive criticism is welcomed (I particularly appreciate thoughts on what you like and don't like), but please keep it courteous.
