After lunch in the Barda Hills, Gujarat. A few locals dozed in the shade on the far shore of the small lake; buffalo wallowed; a mugger (crocodile) drifted across an inlet. A paradise flycatcher hawked insects, too far away to photograph. Terrific heat. The slightest breeze felt like relief.

I keep coming back to this, Pete, and also find it popping up in my mind at odd times during the day. He's miles away, in his thoughts isn't he?
ReplyDeleteI have to say I'm really pleased with this one, Lesley. It's taking a while for the novelty to wear off — usually a good sign.
ReplyDeleteAh, this is good. The arm, the half-hidden, wistful expression ...you have captured the moment. Classic.
ReplyDeleteThanks mm.
ReplyDeleteOf course all your photos are wonderful, technique I can't even begin to imagine, but more, they are very moving. I'm looking at this one with tears rolling down my face, and yet, if I try to think of why I can only think of the truth it shows, (as I've said before), that you are able to somehow capture your subject's soul, and the beauty of the light in his clothing.
ReplyDeleteVJ, that's a truly beautiful comment. I appreciate it, deeply. Thanks :^)
